Hi.

My GF needs a laptop and need to get it on terms. Are there any other shops, besides Game, Incredible Connection and Hi-Fi Corp that sell laptops on terms in Cape Town area or are these the best bet?

Thanks
Wade

She can Probably take out a Contract with Vodacom for around R500 or R600 pm and get a Laptop, 3G card and data bundle included.

yup but thats over 36 months

600 x 36 = 21k and the laptops are worth like 10k

dyanamo go get a credit card man, will work out alot less in the long run

virgin had a special of no interest for 3 months

Yeah, its a long contract, but remember that includes a 2 gig data bundle each month.

So if I use a credit card (which I have) which is the cheapest place to get a laptop? Still Game, Incredible or Hi-fi Corp?

Unfortunately yeah, I'd vote for IC as well.. the laptop prices are not too far out at that place.

HiFi Corp has a notebook for less than R3K. IC is selling similar spec'd one for R3K. If you want cheap, go for one of those.

also have a look at laptops.co.za, they also offer terms. I have not used them before, but someone else recommended them to me.

if you want a higher spec'd laptop, pinnacle/rectron/sahara would probably be cheaper.

What kind of laptop is going for R3k new? You got a link?

*Googles furiously

Whaaat, you haven't heard about the EEE PC?!

7" screen laptop, something like 800x400 resolution. 890g weight. Models: 512MB RAM with 2GB/4GB SSD hard drives and 1GB RAM with 4GB/8GB SSD hard drives I think. The more expensive ones come with a 0.3MP webcam. Wireless, SD card reader, 3 x USB. Comes standard either with a cool Linux OS or Windows XP Home.

Clearly I have been missing out, so apologies for thread hijack...

i love the fact that it's so small. Have checked out the vids on youtube...

What are your opinions of the thing? What is battery life like? It's so small I am sure it is pretty good?

4 hour battery life.

Saw one in the shops the other day, very kief. :D

The small screen will give you a bit of a shock though!

And remember, the Linux one comes with OpenOffice.org. :)
