Buying Adsl

Hi

I am a new member here and am hoping to buy adsl, well order it very soon and expecting a loooooooooooooon wait. :/

All the options seem quite bewildering and despite our collective hate for telkom we have no choice to deal with them. Had a look at ISP and atlantic seems to be a good one (opinions) they offer us our current internet connections. Is there a much better affordable isp out there somewhere?

I mostly want to use the internet for war3 and wow and gaming what connection speed am i going to be needing to not have lag? is the 192 fast enough.

And how do u actually get it up and running, telkom must come and install it and then u phone the ISP and get that and then it works?

Hey BattleMoose - reading the ADSL Newbie FAQ (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=24418) may help a bit. 192 should be fine for war3 and wow.

Don't forget to ask if they have self-install option in your area if you are moderately technical. Saves you the R404 install cost.

[basically you are able to follow instructions on pamphlet or phone(help desk) or can get a friend to do it. Self-install is suppose to shorten install time]

Basically if your paying more than R200pm for 3GB your paying too much
