Buying appliances online

Any recommendations on sites, other than takealot, where one can buy home appliances, like kitchen stuff, from?

I found this one www.drommedaris.co.za, which I thought was good till I found www.ehome.co.za which is the same with different colour scheme and name. That is a bit dodge.
 
Makro has an online store. Yuppiechef has smaller appliances.
 
Makro and Loot.

But go check the physical stuff out first and make sure of exactly what you want, then buy online.
 
Bought EVERYTHING from Makro online a year ago, service and delivery great.

Unpacked stuff and every single appliance was dented or caved in.
The R10k washer /dryer looked like it was dropped on its door.
Dishwasher sides was caved in, drawers would not close.
Double door fridge freezer, doors was bent and would not seal.

48 hours later, the lot collected and replaced with even worse state units.
Cancelled order.
Refund paid into Hirches bank account (unbeknownst them them).
Hirches delivered, and unpacked and connected the lot. Happy wife, happy life.

Drommedaris is a reputable store - they've been around for ages. I think Ehome is probably just the e-commerce side of theirs for possibly SEO or other branding reasons.

I cannot vouch for how well their online service is but have purchased from their stores in Jeffreys bay before and had great service.
 
I made my last online order ever recently. After it never arrived within 3 months+, which was promised 3x times 6 weeks, I had enough of this nonsense. I was lucky to get my full amount back after a few words here and there.
From now on only----Physical Store fully attended, phone calls, email order, courier, no problems worth mentioning with these-Usually I decide with these communications if I want to abandone the store.
With online, if something goes wrong, you talking to gosts somewhere.

For some reason I was under the impression that the likes of Makro, etc only deliver in and around the town/city they have stores and I live out near a small town in the Karoo. I went back now to check again on their delivery and I see no mention so that does open up quite a few options.

lol where on earth did you buy from. I only buy online from places I know that deliver seems like you just had a very bad experience but nothing worth not buying online again. just don't buy from them again...
 
Have read to many horrible stories to even attempt to buy online cause i have had incidents where when i buy instore.

The sales people still mess things up, still prefer to do my shopping in the shop.
 
There are some great advantages about buying online, especially in relation to DOA items and warranty claims. Although some manufacturers will send a technician out for faulty appliances, even into the sticks. I bought a gas hob that went faulty after 8 months. The technician came out, FOC, and showed me how to clean dirty nozzles. At that time I was living more than 150km from any city.
