Buying arcade games

Currently softcapped so trying to find this information on the Microsoft site is way too painful.

Whats the deal with buying Arcade games on Xbox live? I gather you use points to purchase the games, how I do get these points? Are they gamer points?

Any help/directions would be appreciated.
 
I think you can also buy the PAL region point cards from Take2, but PAL points are more expensive.
 
I buy my UK points directly from the marketplace, They are more expensive but we generally have less issues with UK accounts.
 
How much per point? I wish I could just buy the arcade games without going through this point nonsense.
 
It's not that bad, I also just buy directly through the dashboard, even though it's a bit pricey.

Basically if you buy in pounds it works out at about R100 for 800pts, the typical price of a new XBLA title.

You can save a few bob if you buy through ebay and get the guys to email you the code.
 
just bought a 5000 point card this morning from uk marketplace - R605
