Buying CPUs from Amazon.com?

So I'm planning to do an AM5 upgrade in the next few months and Amazon has the 7600x for a massive discount right now. However, once you factor in shipping, it's about 1k difference compared to Wootware.

Is it worth importing myself with the potential hassles around returns if there are any problems? Or should I just buy local? Especially considering I'd have to get thermal paste and do the installation myself which would be a first time for me (I know my way around the rest of a computer's bits and bobs, just never gotten around to installing a CPU before).
I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon cause local stores con the daylights out of us on prices, plus there's often specials and I bundle my stuff.

The problem is returns BUT it depends on your account with Amazon. I've been buying stuff for a long time, and in the odd time i had to return, they were very lenient. I sent an item back with like the slowest humanly possible shipping via the ocean and as soon as I scanned and sent them the proof it was shipped my account was refunded in 2 hours. But it can also be hit and miss...

Eitherway you take a chance. Also FYI i've bought a CPU locally before, installed it myself and it was broken and the local store told me very politely they are SURE i broke it during installation probably by static electricity lol. They're waiting to get us in this country around every corner lol.

Name and shame. The distributors, who are the warranty holders, cannot prove it, and will therefore replace under warranty. In fact, they'll replace it no matter what, provided there isn't physical damage.
