So I'm looking to buy something from amazon.com but before I do so would like to know a few things.

Is the shipping expensive?
How long will it take?
Does the goods get lost?
Any other negative comment regarding buy from them?

I know most of the info is up on their site but I'd like to hear about your expience buying from them.

Thanks in Advance.

I ordered a Kindle from them and the service was impeccable. Shipping and the customs deposit (which seems to cover any possible customs charges at this end) added about 20% to the listed price. Transit to SA from the USA took 3 days, though DHL then blew it this end by taking FOUR days to get the package 35km to me from their local office! Overall though I would have no problem recommending working direct -- there is a premium to be paid when working through a third party.

Bought a kindle for my mom the other day. Shipping was $60... got couriered straight to her door. And you can track the package in your amazon account. Best online shopping experience i have ever had.

easier to download the kindle app for pc for free..and then read them books on your laptop

No complaints - ordered my Kindle the Monday and received it the Friday.

nah, it works out from amazon just under R1500 and local price is R1675 - not a huge price difference. software also may not work

Now for my second question.

Will Band hero super bundle for xbox 360 ordered from amazon.com work on my Xbox 360 here in SA?

Here is the link to the one I have in mind:

http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Band-featuring-Taylor-Swift-Nintendo/dp/B002A9JH8K

For Xbox 360 it only costs $99 which is A LOT cheaper than any local shop (online as well)

In all likelihood, Amazon will not ship that product out of the US. For something like this, either buy it locally or off EBay which has its own set of risks.

I bought my kindle from Amazon, and as the others have said, it was a fantastic, and financially worthwhile experience. I have also bought books from Amazon in the past. For technical books (like IT books) it's far cheaper even with shipping and duties.

they do actually ship, but the software may not work on our consoles, they calculate as follows:
Items: ZAR 724.51
Shipping & Handling: ZAR 402.29

Total Before Tax: ZAR 1,296.22
Estimated Tax To Be Collected:* ZAR 0.00
Import Fees Deposit ZAR 169.42

Now the only thing I cant see is if the R169.42 is part of the R402.29 handling, if its not then amazon come to R1465.64 whereas here it is R1690 with shipping

I would be wary of buying this overseas, I have this kit and the drums had to be sent back 3 times to be repaired.
