Amazon has these ridiculous restrictions on what may be shipped to S.A. Now I have wondered, aren't there any online businesses sitting in the U.S./U.K who makes their money by acting as a middle man, buying from amazon and then shipping worldwide for a small fee? Has anybody being able to buy "restricted" products from the amazon site in any way whatsoever?

Wantitall is Amazon wrapped in local clothing.

There are also various remailing services available in the US.

Yes it was a week after Wantitall bragged about their weekly container shipment from Amazon USA warehouses that Amazon boycotted the SAPO

Problem with wantitall is that they never have the stuff I want (like the stuff from the fossil store on amazon) and when you request it, they charge you so much you can actually fly over and fetch it yourself.

Now looking at the remailers...thanx, you provided the word I missed in my google searches ;)..will post if I find a nice cheap one..

The cheapest options, by far, are those available on Ebay, just search for "usa mail forwarding". Costs about $5 per package + shipping cost. Multiple packages can also be combined to save shipping. Pretty neat! :D

Hi guys,

Didnt know too much about us 'bragging' about brining items in from the USA to SA, however we had already been doing it for a year, prior to amazon stopping shipments to SA.

Please PM any items you want from the USA - let me see what I can arrange.

With regards to the fossil watches - please let me know which one you need imported?

Cheers

See, exactly my problem with wantitall. If you go the the amazon fossil shop, you'll see that only 5% of their items are watches, yet those are the only ones you list. There are many items I am interested in, and requesting a quote for each of them manually and waiting days for it (like last time round) is not my kinda game. If you list it on your site, I will gladly take a look.

Ap0C, your prices are too high. One example is the Linksys WRT854GL router. That's more expensive than Incredible and more than double another LOCAL online dealer's price.

Agreed, the majority of wantitall's prices are just plain ludicrous
And where on earth do they get their retail prices from?

Quote from their website:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor, 2.40 GHz...
Our Price:R 3,152.00
Retail Price: R 5,667.00 You Save: R 2515.00 (44%)
Delivery Time: 7 to 15 Working Days
Format: CE

You save 44%... yeah right... even after the supposed saving your price is still 44% MORE expensive than anywhere else!!!

Check the prices of their software:

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009
Our Price:
R 897.00

Retail Price: R 1,271.00 You Save: R 374.00 (29%)
Delivery Time: 7 to 15 Working Days
Format: Software
==

Now there's a lie. Incredible has it for around R200, so where does the R1271 retail figure come from.
