Hi,
Im not sure if this is the right place to ask this but is there a international online shop to buy motherboards and ship it to south africa. I know most of you are going to say rather just buy from a local store, but i'm not going to do that because nearly every tech store in south africa charges 50% more on products. I see MyUS can do it through Amazon and I love amazon to ship RAM, Processors, harddrives and graphics cards which I have had no problem with it's just that the sellers on Amazon don't ship to South Africa. So maybe there is another store online thats cheap like Amazon. Or should I just use MyUS because ill still save money if I use them.

Regards
Ender

Just keep in mind that the shipping cost + import duties + hassles with warranty may quickly negate the perceived saving on buying from overseas.

Give us a list of what you want to buy online, and lets see if the local equivalent is truly more expensive.

An invitation for the dealers on the forum to provide pricing on same or equivalent product perhaps?

It still works out cheaper than buying it here. I bought a Processor, RAM and a harddrive together shipping was only 11,63$ and import fee's were like 20$. Thats only R350 which is you would pay 1500R extra on each item you would buy from south africa.

Or the MSI Z97 KRAIT EDITION

I only find one mention in SA for this motherboard

@R2399

Looking on Amazon and Newegg I see it for around $128

not sure what shipping would be for it, but yes you are correct it looks like you would get it cheaper from overseas.

I am sure there are a lot of hidden costs for the Channel and the re seller in South Africa that needs to be factored in as well.

if i am not mistaken Corex brings in MSI, perhaps a dealer can provide a price on this board for you?

Unfortunately i am not a dealer but work for a 1st level disti, MSI is not one of our brands so I cannot give any insight around the costing etc of this unit

Newegg is great, bought all my stuff through them, to be fair I paid in CAD but I built a budget gaming desktop at about R10,000 using the current exchange rate when all was said and done.

Having said that I don't know what the shipping would be.
