Hi, I'm interested in buying a long sleeve man utd soccer jersey from the manutd.com online store... besides the costs that i see on the website for the item, what other fees can i expect wrt customs, etc?

Also, is there any other local online shops that can sell me the jersey because i cannot find a store here in Durban that stocks the long sleeve jersey with the Barclays logos, etc.

do you have an idea what the customs costs are to import clothing?

Iirc they don't charge on anything under R3000. Probably best to find a mate who will be there in the near future and just get him to buy it though. I wouldnt want to ship/courier just a jersey.

I bought some stuff off the site about 2yrs back and the total value of the goods came to about R500 - when it got here i had to pay an extra R120 odd for customs and stuff like that. Its a great site to get United kit and the like from - just the customs costs suck. Oh and i ddnt get the expedited delivery either - got the normal one and it took about 2 weeks to get the stuff

hope this helps

Don't know about the united store but ordering shirts from the inter store for the last 5 years I have only gotten charged for customs once and that was because it was my third overseas order for the year. In the end had to pay R150.

I bought a shirt of the Liverpool site about 3 years ago. Got a call saying it was waiting for collection at the Post Office depot.
I knew nothing about customs. Got there and had to pay 45% import duty because it was a "textiles" (not sure what the percentage is now?)
Because the invoice showed 3 items, 1) The shirt, 2) players name and numbers, 3) Premier league badges, they charged me taxes on all 3 line items!

Next time im def waiting for a mate to go over or come home!!
