Buying overseas?

Hey everyone,

So I’m buying a new rig finally and I’m comparing prices over the internet, and I’ve come across the fact that pc hardware is cheaper From US stores than South African stores.

Has anyone bought from international stores based in the us, and if so, is it a good idea to save money?

Depends on exchange rate at the time of purchase, shipping and customs charges..

Rma is a headache, it's worth the extra money just buying locally.
Local suppliers won't help you RMA an overseas product

Also remember you can only import 3 items per year(without an importers license), so if its all in one box then that's 1, but if you're buying from multiple places you'll quickly reach the 3 limit and customs will keep your stuff until you provide your importers code.

My advice... buy local especially for RMA mentioned above.

Does anyone know how much customs I'll pay on importing books? I'm looking to buy a couple manga volumes from Japan and the company says they'll label the package as "printed matter".
