Ok..as some of you know, I'm building a high-end Rig.

I'm R1000 short on my Rig and have to either get a crapper PSU, or a crapper Mobo, which I don't really wanna do.

at rectron, a Gigabyte 4870X2 goes for R8000 (R7000 + VAT)
at Frontosa, they have a Sapphire 4870X2 for R8865 (R7777 + VAT)

now, at Boksburg's flea market, they told me they can order a Sapphire 4870X2 for me, and it will cost R7000. WTF? Interesting, but WTF? Cheaper than Rectron & Frontosa? where the hell do they get the stuff?!

anyway - do you guys think it would be wise to buy there, i mean, it's not like they can possibly have fake 4870X2's or anything?

This seems like an easy way out for me, and I get to keep the awesome mobo & PSU, but i'm not sure...

has anyone here bought any Hardware at a flea market?

thanks guys :p

please give reasons for your answer, that would help.

Hi, keeper. Did you create a thread mentioning what you will be getting?

somewhere...but it changed a little, so:

-Dirk Tooth Raidmax Smilodon Chassis (R900, Already have)
-ASUS Maximus formula Mobo (R2700)
-Gigabyte Odin GT 800W Modular PSU (R2000)
-Gigabyte/Sapphire 4870X2

an then in a few weeks
-Q6600
-8GB 800MHz DDR2 Ram (4x2GB)

hmm...force 3D...never heard of that brand..

would you guys recommend rather getting the P5Q mobo instead of the Asus Maximus formula Mobo which would save me the R1000 instead of buying the Sapphire from the flea market?

If I was you, I'd Google for some reviews of that Force3D board. IMO Gigabyte = Force3D = Sapphire = all these other Chinese firms.
Prophecy also offers at least 1 year guarantee on their products, do they not?

I have bought a load of stuff from the flea market guys-6x shops now selling there and all of them simply put a sticker on the item you buy for warranty purposes.Make sure its still there for exchanging stuff.
Ive exchanged mother boards and graphix cards from them already.

No problems there..

Describe the approximate location of the shop within the flea market if you can. I've bought from the small one on the left half of the market as you come in and exchanged no problem

There are a few..From the top entrance hit a hard right ,on the corner are the 2 Indian guys..towards the center is the other Indian guys, same owner as the first fyi.
Go through the "square" and keep right.First shop as you go in is the Chinese couple. Funny guy at the back knows his stuff..This is my favorite one. Only the fan prices have gone up unrealistically..The other shops are so so although the first one mentioned does have good memory bargains.. :D
