Bid or Buy has a few dealers selling new packs of Ultimate for R1000 or even less. They swear blind that the copies are original Microsoft products. Are they for real?

How would they get the real deal for such a bargain?

I would not touch that. Those license keys have probably been exposed to multiples of different people and there is a very real possibility that someone somewhere along the way has used one of those license keys to activate their copy of Windows 7.

Only buy from reputable dealers.

Might be safer to buy the retail version from incredible connection, game etc or the DSP version from Hugepc etc.
The other option is to buy a technet account for $199 and have access to every version of Windows and Office as well as a whole truckload of other MS stuff. They also allow you to have up to 10 product keys per version. Only trick is that it must be used in a "testing environment". Since most of us are always re-installing Windows and modifying it, it more or less covers that. Also, the keys you get are still valid after the account has expired. just don't be stupid and hand out the keys to your friends or start a business and sell keys...

The dealers are using those keys on their own computers & basically just selling you a disc.

Please don't buy it, rather buy from the local CNA, Incredible Corruption, or directly from Microsoft.

I've had experiences with this from a few customers complaining that they purchased something through an auction but no CD key was present and I had to somehow come up with one gratis!

So from experience: Stay away! Buy from a dealer or retail store. Direct.
