is there a local seller, who i can pay in rands, for wow gold? on eu server Laughing skull? cause, i couldnt be bothered to grind it all, but i do have actual money...
 
This to me equates to nothing more than cheating. I know many people do it and it is due to them and the gold farmers they support who mess up the economy on the servers.

People buying gold imo might as well just stop playing wow as a whole. I doesn’t help a person to reach 80 then buy item level 264 gear with gold that he bought. What’s the use of grinding and raiding if you are only gona buy gear with gold that you didn’t even work for? And that then leads to the question of, what’s the use of levelling a character if you are not really gona benefit from raiding?
 
You'll get a ban hammer on your face for buying gold. Not worth the chance...

Also...don't support Gold Sellers...They are the most annoying thing in WoW.

im pretty sure he worked for the money he is using to buy gold
imagine the situation: ur tired, come home from work, u want to raid with ur friends, but ur gear is crap
option1: spend all year making ingame gold/grinding for items and never getting to play with ur friends
option2: use some of the money u worked for already, buy gold, craft as many high level items as u can, ACTUALLY enjoy playing the game with ur friends

if he wants to buy gold with the money he worked for why not? comparatively he can make it quicker outside of the game

personally, but thats also cuz of a lack of actual money, have made a crapton (in the past at least) of gold by cutting gems and marking up from the raw price
how is that any less bad than buying it outright
i literally click to buy a raw gem, click to cut it, and put it back up
(sure i had to do multiple dailies for the patterns, but relative to other stuff, it was still easy gold)

//edit: the only reason i might be against buying gold is cuz of the way its acquired sometimes (hacking others accounts and stealing their gold to sell), but if it was a person or even a bot that grinded it i dont see the harm

the gold sellers get their gold from hacking accounts. how many bots can you see in Northrend farming ore etc. ?

Extra bonus for them if they get access to an account which can withdraw gold from a guild bank. Its so easy to gear up to raid 10 man ICC, that this is not a valid reason to buy gold.
 
im guessing i made myself a target with my comments here about my crapton of gold, well most of that was used and i fortunately only had about 10k gold total, still the inconvienience is huge;
my gmail account was hacked last night and my battlenet account password reset: lost access to my starcraft II CE and my wow wolk account
presumably i have no gold left and any non-soulbound items are going to be gone by the time i can log in again
so if the attack originated from here: kindly go **** ur mother

I think that's the funniest thing I have ever seen.

"Blah Blah I'm all tough.... yeah buy gold, why would you play the game properly?"

the timing is a little coincidental tho - i guess i can recognise the irony/humour here -> still its not cool laughing over an incident like this
besides i was always against hacks and from that point of view didnt support it
depending how the gold is acquired i still dont care if ppl buy it, unfortunately it creates the market for the hackers
regardless, im not really _that_ pissed off about the wow acc, it was my gmail account that pissed me off
the fact that i have job applications pending etc was my main concern
ive never bought gold either

besides i dont see how my comment was "tough": each person to their own, infact the solution to the whole gold selling problem would be for blizzard just to sell gold in game
at the end of the day if u got ur money from actual work or "work" ingame, it shouldnt make a difference
or instead of gold, to control in game inflation, make the items that one can buy with emblems purchasable with real money, and have those all be soul bound (even gems and orbs bought this way) and make the items a different colour even so that ppl if they dont want to dont have to play with ppl who purchase items.

//edit: also, admittedly, i never thought my account password _could_ get stolen given that i never log in from public places (i always thought that account hacks originated exclusively from a persons negligence), i havent fallen for any scam messages (havent even received a phishing mail/nor any "official" ones... basically i have never received an email asking for my battle net account details) and i certainly dont have keyloggers (i run up to date antivirus and i have since checked my pc with both googles recommended spyware program and spyware search and destroy); but yeah i guess the extent of the problem wasnt real to me before this
either way, ill survive, and itll happen to someone else down the line, and ppl will continue to buy gold regardless of what any one of us says here in the forum: some lessons are just learnt the hardway in the end

The irony is so bitter sweet it's palpable. You were probably brute forced once they knew what your gmail account was. Same thing happened to me and I immediately changed emails to a more secure client. Add an authenticator and lastly, stop being a tit and buying gold. It's a well known fact that 90% of all the gold you buy is stolen from compromised accounts. When the market dries up, the account stealing will stop.

ive honestly never bought gold, i made so much from jewelcrafting that ive never been in the position that i wanted to buy gold

How much you looking for? I was playing on Laughing Skull EU, Horde side. Got a stock pile of about 70k. My account is inactive at the moment so I'd need to buy a game card. If you take a bunch of gold I'll reactivate it. PM me.

Normally I would agree, but you stated it's fine to buy gold. Anyone who buys gold or says it's ok to do so is basically directly responsible for accounts getting hacked. If there were no gold selling/buying there would be no account hacking, it really is that simple.

Now you know where the gold comes from.....

My sister was hacked a while ago and got everything back in about two days, that was the US support however. But good luck with getting everything back.

Just incase you're wondering, I'm still laughing about this. :D
 
Yesterday I bought some awesome speakers that fell off a truck.
Today my brand new laptop was stolen from my car.
Tomorrow I am going to blame the lack of police action for my hefty increase in insurance premiums.
Later on, I will still not get it.
In the meantime, I am going to buy more WoW gold so that I can own a digital Mammoth and not understand it's true value at all.
In the future, I will brag about my collection of mounts and other digital collectibles, and I will eventually fool myself into believing that I have actually achieved.
 
Here's an alternative in which you could still possibly win.
Ask your RL friends playing WoW for a gold loan. Possibly pay them back with actual currency: money, beers, car washes, back rubs (if that's your thing).

If you don't have any RL friends playing WoW - it may be time for a review of the situation O_o
 
I have about 35k gold out on load to various guildies at the moment. Most were for epic riding skill but some were to buy weapons/armor/whatever.

They pay me back as and when they get some gold since I'm in no rush to get the gold back but in the last two years every single guy I have borrowed gold to has paid me back every last copper piece. The one guy borrowed 5k gold for his epic riding skills sends me 100g every Friday and has been doing that for about 8 months now.

That's very cool of you.

I've bought mounts and riding skills for more people than I can keep track of and I think my little dude is broke if I had to reactivate and log back in now. I couldn't really care to ask them for the money back, instead I just hope they pay it forward and help the next bunch who hit level cap.
