As a Cell C 5gig pre-paid user I got gatfol for the poor ping, poor speed, poor service. poor excuses and empty promises - Sooo, I have taken up the new Vodacom 2gig offer to try - WOW - now I have Woosh!!
6.5 mbps down and 2.8 mbps up - WHAT A PLEASURE!!!:D

Afraid I will be using the rest of the cell c data when I can, but they will never get a repurchase of any kind from me.

Good that you're getting decent speeds on VC - however, you'll have to commit yourself to (staying up / waking up to) download 2Gigs every month between midnight & 5a.m. to get full value from this package.

Same here. Rather Vodacom OOB than Cell C snail/no speed.

Why would they charge for OOB after 1.7Gigs if the allocation is 2Gigs / month (not to mention an additional 2Gigs between Midnight & 5a.m.) ?

Because he gets allocated 2Gb/2Gb per month, and if he uses more than his allocation then he'll be charged OOB. Very easy to go OOB with speeds like that.

With CellC prepaid this is not possible, you get allocated 2Gb/5Gb, and once it is finished, then you cannot download any more.

I use to have VC 3G on contract, then moved to prepaid after the contract was over as it was pretty much the same price then & eventually moved to ADSL.

When on contract I asked them to put a cap on it. Had the cap set to R50 above the normal amount. & it seldom went over my cap amount, maybe by another R20.

R70 over is a liveable amount.

I migrated back to Vodacom as well.

Couldn't use my cap lat month and this month is fast becoming the same. There is not much use in offering the best price in SA when it can't be used as the network is down all the time. I pay double for half the data now - but I know that I can browse the internet.

Yea - I have to watch OOB, but it's better than paying Cell C for no service.

Well, let me tell you. I agree with this guys. I have 2 buddies that are struggling to connect to the WHOOOSHH!!! So I decided to go for the new MTN deal. Also 19c/mb OOB. So yeah. Getting 54ms ping though. Very happy

All you guys, thanks for the warning about OOB, I use to manage my cell C account in a way that the data allocated will last, as for staying up at night to use the 12am - 5am, 2 gigs of data - well no, the answer to this is simply a good download manager.

I was with Vodacon data for about three years, and then switched to Cell C. It has been the BEST data decision I have made. My speeds are always around 10mbps, I have had absolutely no issues since I bought in November last year.

Come November this year, I will be buying a new 12 month Cell C deal. I already have the fast modem, so I will just need to buy the data from them

You will get shafted by VC.....just like Telkom
