There is this really old game called BZ Flag - 100% freeeeeeee.
BZ = Battle Zone.
It's a 3d Tank Shootemup.
Graphics have been upgraded a lot - but it's no Doom 3.
Quite Addictive.

Anyways - I was wondering if anybody would like me to setup a server here in ZAR. I play regularly in Denmark - bzflag0.gamesunited.de - but this shaping thing on ADSL is getting out of hand and lag times of 320 - 568 are becoming more and more predominant. Local ping times (from a server at work) are about 10ms - muuuuuuch better.

The catch is that you need about 10 people playing at one time for a really enjoyable game.

So - anybody play this/wanna play this ?
If I get about 20 yes's in August/Sept 2004 i'll do it.

More motivation ...
You can chat ingame - to your teammates - to your enemies - to an individual. Taunt and laugh and generally have fun.

You vote to ban/kick somebody that is being a bugger = no admins required to get rid of an irritant :: for a while (10 Mins) anyway.

Guided missiles look really cool with trailing smoke, shadows and everything.

Server uses about 8% CPU on a P3 1GHz. I've succesfully run 4 servers with 6 players each (robots) on a PII, at 30% CPU.

I play in denmark for 4 hours = about 184 MB, so the protocol is damn efficient.

It's another perfect capped end of month game.
