Good day all,

We have a 2012 C350 CDI with just over 100k km on the clock. Last year we got a check engine light, but no limp mode or any other indications of any faults. It went off to the indie for a diagnostic check and the code returned was P2453 DPF pressure sensor circuit A malfunction. We were advised to take the car for a long freeway drive to burn out the DPF. The indie has STAR software but they were incredibly busy so we just opted for the long drive hoping it'll commence a DPF regen.

One long drive (+- 150 km on the N4) later and the light did not go away but it seemed to give off signs of doing a DPF burn, so I cleared the MIL a few days after that with my OBD2 scanner and all was well for about 2 weeks. The light comes on intermittently (2-3 weeks on, a day/few days off) and if I manually clear it, it comes back after varying lengths of time. That same P2453 code is the only thing that shows up on a scan. If the MIL is off, no DTC's are picked up.

The car is daily driven, about 60-70km a day, mostly at 80/100kph. Surely this doesn't cause the DPF to fill up faster than usual? Is this just a sensor issue as I presume it to be?
