I'm sure there is a thread some where in the back with cobwebs on it but please don't flame me if Ive started another one up.
So basically Ive watched loads of videos on custom sleeve jobs and I really like the look of it - well some of them.
From what I've read and watched, it is pretty clear that it takes a REALLY long time to do even with the right tools.
So I don't have any experience in the modding side of PCs.

So would it be better to:

A) Just get the kits:

Lamptron Deluxe Modular 5-in-1 Modding Tool Kit Black
Vantec CSK-80-BK Cable Sleeving Kit Black
Vantec CSK-80UV-RD Cable Sleeving Kit UV Red
And a heat gun.
Sit down one weekend and just give it a go?

or

B)

Get what is mentioned above and pay some one ie from here who knows what they doing.
Just supply above (just the sleeves - considering they should have the tools) + my PSU, front connectors and fans?

Would be great to hear what you guys think :)

Edit:

This is what I would like to have done to my cables:

With the costs of buying one of those kits, heatgun, and then having to take ages or pay someone to do it, you're probably just better off buying a new PSU with sleeved, modular cables in the first place. Will save you a lot more space as well since you can plug out any cables you don't need.

Dont recall seeing PSU with single sleeved cables anywhere. Especially not one with colours. Some overseas stores will sleeve it for you, but it costs an arm and a leg.

@OP - using a modular PSU is the way to go. This way you get to keep your warranty intact. If you use a PSU with fixed cabling you will void the warranty no matter what you do unless its a Thermaltake iirc.

I'll be sleeving my stuff in the coming months, green and black, using the stuff from mdpc (linky). Its part of the custom case I'm working on (link in sig). If you know what you're doing its 2-3 full days of work. Its not particulary difficult, it just takes time to get it looking right. Also note (very important) that vantec sleeving will NOT look like the pic you uploaded, its weave is not as tight so you will very likely still see the wire colours underneath. That kit also does not have nearly enough to individually sleeve a whole PSU

Hey Archer,

Trust me I've been following your thread all the time (custom case build), form the start lol.
Even wanted to do designs a pitch them for the decal/spray jobs for the case but work got the best of me.
Thank you so much for that link to MDPC website - wow, ye I can see the quality in those sleeves.
I would most likely purchase the sleeves and have them sent off to my brother in the UK and have him send it to down to me, as I didn't see shipping to South Africa there.
Will most likely send the money off to my brother also and have him purchase it for me.

I currently have in my case a Corsair TX850W but I'm building a new rig for my girlfriend where I will be taking it out and placing it in her rig. I will be getting myself the Corsair HX1000W Modular, I want to get a second EVGA GeForce GTX 580 DS Superclocked at some stage this year.
So I guess the modular part is taken care of.

So how much would I have to twist your arm and leg to have you do it for me :P
I wouldn't actually mind sitting down and doing the stuff myself tbh it is just the time factor as to when will I be able to sit down and do it lol

MDPC will ship to SA, but if you can route it via your brother thats good too.

Check out this guide (its also where I saw the Vantec sleeving is a bit meh) - http://www.overclock.net/case-mods-general-discussion/2691-psu-sleeving-guide.html
If it looks like its too much for you I'll help you out no problem, PM me and we'll figure something out :) Just let me do my PSU first, I've had enough setbacks! :p But really, its just patience, and making sure you put the wires back where they belong. Modular also means you can take your time a bit more since you an just unplug on, work on it it, and then put it back, next day do another etc.

What colours you want to go for?

Well Im going to be going Red and Black as shown in that pic in the OP.
Basically got myself a HAF X with Red Led 200mm fans / H50-1 with 2x Coolermaster 90CFM for push and pull / followed by a Rampage 3 Extreme ... so pretty much a Red / Black colour scheme going there ^^ also got my Merc Stealth with RED + had a Lachesis Multi Led Red which just gave me issues so got a Death Adder Black Edition.
But I don't want hectic red - so the main connector I would just like 2 reds one side / 2 reds on the other side and the rest all black.
6/8 pin / Molex / Sata connectors, I would go half/half and then have my fans/front connectors black.
Well I reckon I will keep in contact via PM about it - also follow your thread to see how yours came out
Gotta focus on my ladies SB setup first and may go Blue + White sleeves for her aslo (getting her a Coolermaster 690 White) will also need to sort out the DVD-Rom to make that in white.
Awesome hobby but takes time :P
