...or at least that is what I have been told. How long does it usually take for the service to be restored? Or is it just not possible to put an ETA on it (ie. How long is a piece of string)?

What did get me bemused was plugging the fault ref number into see progress. The result was that the fault had been sorted back in 2011. Either numbers are recycled or their service is blitz vinnig :p

If there are business and corporate clients in your vicinity it might not be too long, otherwise all you can do is hope for the best.

It took about two weeks for ours to be fixed and reconnected.

Useless trivia: the last 6 digits of the ref indicates the date that the fault was reported.

Telkom will first have to appoint a contractor to do the job, they don't do it themselves.

Thank you. There is a small shopping centre in the vicinity, but no franchise names in there that would turn up the heat (assuming they were also affected. No corporate clients. Therefore, this may not be a top priority for them. Ai tog! :(

Thank you. It'll be a long two weeks even if that is the minimum.

Copper or fibre?
Are there businesses affected?

Took less than a week for Telkom to restore our service after builders stole cabling... Have hope :)

You are most kind. Besides, I would rather see the glass half full at this point in time.

May I also add, that if Telkom were savvy about this, they would replace said copper with fibre? Ah heck, I'd be happy having copper back and not be too greedy :o
