Call back scam?

I have just received an sms from MTN as follows: Please call 666 at 078........ (number in my contact list but not used in more than a year.

I called the person from a landline and obviously woke her from a deep sleep (probably alcohol induced) and I accept her denial about sending the message.

666 might be significant to some but the lady in this case is atheist so is irrelevant. I am not an MTN subscriber so cannot see what they had to gain.

Any ideas?

You received a please call me. Nothing more to it imo. The 666 was probably inadvertently set up by whomever accessed the please call me function sometime in the past.
