Hey Guys,if you happen to read my post yesterday on signal within the Mount Edgecombe Area, you'll know what im talking about.I phoned the call centre today to make sure, and wouldnt you know it my area isnt zoned. So i was just wondering,ProAsm,who should i believe? You or them? [:(]

You mean go ahead with ordering a modem etc? The guy at the call centre said it would be daft to go about ordering the package if the map said otherwise. But i have reason to believe that map hasnt been updated in a while...[:(]Where's ProAsm when you need him?

just wait he will answer your question soon, just post a question to him in a forum he is active in.

LOL - I live 1 km from the Sunningdale Tower in Glen Anil and the ZL says "No Signal - 2005" for my location and I get 49% [:D]
Try and get someone to do a test.
On Wednesday we are going to the Gateway area to do several tests so if you email me your address and a map we will try and pop by and do a test for you.

Ok,sounds good.A test in Mount Edgecombe's General Area would be a good, idea not exactly at my house, since it isnt central, but in the general vicinity. Now all i got to do is get the application form filled out ....

Ok These were the tests carried out in parts of Mount Edgecombe this morning.

Trade Center and Casino areas were excellent, connected with 20% in the car parked in parking lot at Trade Center.
Village behind Checkers/OK was also very good.
All areas around the Golf Course were very good.
As we proceeded down Golfcourse Drive past Helse Drive (Oakmont Village area) signals started to dissapear.
There are many houses here but will need a large a high placed external antenna.
Broadlands was excellent - even in the low spots.

Im still not sure about the signal, since my house is not to far from the the casino, but also quite close to Golfcourse Drive(1 km give or take).Im within the estate on the golf course....if that makes any sense at all...Erm...would it be to much trouble to check which villages you went into?

I did ask you to tell me where you stay and no I dont remember Hoylake at all, but all around the Casino area (about .5 km radius) was excellent.
The only place which was pretty bad was that area below the Golf Course, say from Oakmont Village and all the way down Golfcourse Drive till about 500 meters before it opens up to the Casino area. Those houses (villages) seem to be the old part of Mount Edgecombe and are built very close to one another and many houses had electric fences (can spot a vaalie anywhere) [:D]

Ok,This is a rough estimate, but i'd say my house is about 1km below that main road were the signal cuts out.And i say my house is a maximum of 3 km from the Casino.Does this give a clearer indication? (I WISH I HAD A MAP [:(]

mmm... you better get a test done before doing anything, pity as we had a 21 dB gain antenna with us as well.

Ok [^].To bad for me indeed.Any word on whether NoWire has opened up yet? I could phone them,as you said,to get a test done (My fault, wasnt at home the whole day) and be sure of a signal.Sound like a good arrangement? BTW Is it possible to utilize DSTV Dishes as a form of antenna, just thought i'd ask.

rodent... you DO realize that you posted this at four minutes past one in the morning, right?

don't you have a job!?! [:D]

if all else fails... influence with hammer
