Call from Vodacom on their Black Friday applications

Hi,

So I applied only for a contract with Vodacom on Black Friday. Upon completing the application, I got an email saying that Vodacom would contact me.

Just wondering if anyone else applied, and have they been contacted? If not, when can we expect to get a call from Vodacom? Will they honour the application done on Black Friday?

I also applied, haven't heard anything from them yet.
 
Also applied but if they dont contact you or if you dont get a hold of them, then you can expect that the order is not complete and you wont get the deal....

i finally got a hold of them yesterday to finalize a deal i requested on Friday.....
 
I phoned them yesterday as I also never heard from them and was told I cant get the deal as I don't qualify and it's out of stock. If you get hold of Shannon- speak to another consultant as she said the email clearly states I should've phoned them with 24 hours and missed the boat.
 
I placed an order with Vodacom for the Galaxy A8 that was R99 x 24 shortly after midnight when the deals went live.

Already had contracts with them so checkout was quick and I got the confirmation on the website thanking me for my purchase, along with the confirmation emails and the email requesting the usual ID and salary which I promptly sent through in the middle of the night.

Phoned them that Friday morning and got told they have no record of any order/it's out of stock/yada yada and they can't do anything other than tell me to email [email protected] with all the proof I have.
Did so, and an waiting for "the relevant department" to contact me.

Poor service.
 
I completed the online application for the Scirocco and it said successful.

I have one missed call from Vodacom from yesterday.

They haven't tried to call me since and I haven't tried to call them
 
Just for interest, whats the legal implications if they do not honour an online order?
 
Hi - if you applied for a black Friday deal (like I did) it is almost guaranteed that you will likely not get it.

I have been nagging them for days to gain clarity, and finally yesterday got told the same story - sorry, there is not stock and the deal is no longer honored.

What gets to me is that stock is limited on the specials - I get that part, and that is why I applied online early on Black Friday when Stock was still available. But, the stock is never allocated, and it seems more like random luck that you will get the deal you requested - seems 50 deals are available, 1000 people apply, and only 50 random lucky applicants of the 1000 get the deal.

This is not how things work with these deals, at least in my opinion - first come, first serve, and if someones application is rejected for whatever reason, then it goes back online for someone else to get it!

Compared to TakeAlot, onedayonly and so on, I am of the opinion that the Vodacom Black Friday deals were the biggest scam, and Vodacom messed up, and Vodacom is hiding behind T&Cs and cannot deliver what was promised in a quote through their online system.

Go and have a look at Twitter and HelloPeter - we are not the only users complaining - it is really messed up and Vodacom just gives excuses and do not contact customers according to their procedures.
 
Has anyone come right with the A8 for R99?
On Sunday they offered me the A6 plus instead of that but the A6 plus is much lower spec than the A8

They tried the same with my brother. He told them to shove it.

Yeah, I agree, but technically the A6+ for R99 per month is still available for that price, so if he initially applied for the A8 then he should try get it. Otherwise, apply for the A6+ now while its at that price.

Have you tried applying for the A6+ now? Apparently it doesn't actually work at that price... The price changes to 350 odd...

I did, if you change the colors it shows the R99 price is available. If you have black chosen as default, changing to lavender lets you choose the 99 price. If lavender colour is selected, changing to black lets you choose the 99 price.

Keep on nagging them.

It's a great device and a great deal.
