Hi guys,

I'm currently on a 384KB line with mweb uncapped, I use downstorm 24/7 and have a constant download speed of 38KB/s. I am thinking of upgrading to a 4MB line (and mweb acc too) but I just wanted to hear from someone who is already on the 4MB uncapped mweb service, using downstorm, what speed are we generally looking at(ie: does it fluctuate or is it also a constant full line speed download?)

MWEB all inclusive is the better value deal!
 
Haha I wish solo7, unfortunately the cashflow doesnt allow for that right now... well I've just upgraded my line so I'm waiting for it to take effect then I'm going to just see for myself what the dl speeds are like, If i can maintain at least a constant 150KB i'll be happy :D will report back later next month :D
 
solo7's suggestion is the only way to avoid account termination though. heck for R1300 a month OP can download after hours and all weekend at 10 megabit with no worries

Wow... so they terminate your account? LOL. Once your account has been terminated, do they put you on a banned list so I cant ever reapply?

May consider it once my exchange goes to 10MB, till then, hardly worth it.
 
Your account will get terminated if you are bypassing the shaping (Downstorm), especially if you download 24/7 as it becomes very easy to detect. Part of the T&C's is that you do not bypass the shaping. I think you will be detected a lot quicker on 4mb though as you will be moving substantially more data than on 384k.

Well I've been on Mweb's 4meg uncapped/shaped package (R 539) since the 04/09/2010 and loving it. However my downloads are only via file hosters and never torrents and this is only after hours. Unfortunately due to work contraints no dloading is done during the day except for weekends and the speeds then are also lekker :). I too suggest you not bypass their shaping, soek jy moeilikheid?

:D Totally agree with post #9 - using a service with no bandwidth limits is gonna get abused, well at least we avoid it.
