Hi Guys,

we have a Nuuo DVR system making use of 45 IP cameras, its running on a core i7 2.7 ( if i remember correctly) with 4 gig ram, and plenty plenty harddrive space , yet it struggles, pulling a recording can take up to 45 minutes for 5 minutes of footage, any idea's , or perhaps better / faster systems out there?

hi Ijacobs3,

What video compression are you using to store your video?
Does Nuvo software support the x264 codec?

I would recommend that you monitor the system resources (taskmanager will do) while the system is displaying a recording as you might be limited by hard disk IO unless your system is using RAID or a hybrid SSD setup.

it seems to be avg at 15 MB/s even during a playback, the CPU and memory is almost idle

i honestly have no idea, :(

Is that read & write or just write speed?

How do you have your disks setup, just a single drive or with RAID? As the slowdown could be caused by the software writing to the drive while recording and having to seek back and forth for reading to display your archive video. Even if this is true 45min does seem very long indeed.
