Hi Forum,

I work in a call centre and it's really destroying my patience. I'm reaching the point now where I know I need something to calm me down and just handle issues better. I think I have some underlying anger and rage within me, and I know it's just gonna get worse.

Can anyone advise if Calmettes help or are they a waste of time? Should I just skip the OTC crap and jump on the tranquilizer bandwagon :( I really can't deal anymore. This environment is truly fcking up any sense of kindness and patience I had as a person.

Please help or advise

Yes they do work but they are not designed for prolong use. If you feel like that and it seems to be an environment issue (which probably will not change any time soon) I would suggest you see a professional before medicating.

Maybe try Solal Theanine? Theanine is the active ingredient in Green Tea and studies have shown it has a positive effect on your brainwaves. Think it encourages Beta waves or something like that. It is expensive though.

Cipla also has it but at a much lower dosage and a smaller pack. Think they branded theirs as "Relicalm". The solal is 350mg and 60 capsules for about R200.00 or so.

I will give the Calmettes a shot maybe first, and then head to Doc if they don't help.

Thanks man! I will give them a shot. Right now I don't really care for the cost, I just need some calm sanity to return to my mental state :(

Way back when I was doing CS, Spasmend worked pretty well. We used to call them "happy pills". :)

I think they worked because they relax tense muscles, which eases the tension in your body, which makes you feel less stressed.

Not sure about the long-term effects on your liver, though.

why don't you go for a massage or something. perhaps a good weekend away will help to clear your mind of everything and help you start afresh.

Would suggest something more along the lines of meditation rather than meds.

If you need tranqs then it has clearly gone to far. Either change the environment or find a way to deal with it. Chemically numbing yourself just to endure a crap environment doesn't strike me as a good way out.

Calmettes & Theanine should be be pretty safe so you might as well give it a shot if you feel like it, but on the whole I think meds are the wrong solution.

My daughter aged 6 or 7 once took a whole bottle of Calmettes. We rushed her to the doctor thinking she would need a stomach pump. He laughed and said don't worry Calmettes are just sugar tablets. Don't know if they've changed the formula since then
but my daughter is in her 30's now.

Its a herbal product containing:

Your doc was probably under the impression that it is homoeopathy based, which are often sugar tablets.

Been using Biral for years now. Cant say if it will work for you - but it sure does work for me.

Hmm, OP hasn't been online in more than 3 years. Maybe the Calmettes didn't help all that much.
