I was wondering if there are any camera clubs or places that give lessons any where in joburg north (midrand ect ect)

I only know of benoni's camera club, Centurion and Krugersdorp. But imo if you want lessons look elsewhere. www.outdoorphoto.co.za/forum is a good place to search for lessons and stuff.

I think you guys mean photography clubs.
Camera clubs are for collectors.

Camera/photographic clubs/societies don't give lessons.

There are people who attend who may be willing to share their knowledge - but frankly, not as many as you'd think. The guys from Southern Suburbs may be the best bet. The JPS folk are (with some notable exceptions) too important to share. Oh, they'll show you what they do, but will be frugal with the how. People to look for are Hans Buscher and Frank Ward - they are gentlemen both.

Have a think about where you are in your journey. If you are still figuring out exposure and how the camera works you may think about one of the courses on offer. If you are trying to improve your technique then maybe try a Creative Escapes weekend. http://www.creative-escapes.co.za/
