Camera question and shop

One for bwana,

Do those Canons take/save pictures in 24bits as in (8-8-8 for R-G-B) or 16bit (5-6-5 for R-G-B)?

A friend showed me this camera shop. Looks sorta kinda not too expensive for S.A.

Actually it is 12 Bit - at least for my EOS 400D

From what I understand from that thread it's 12 bits per sensor element - i.e. 12-12-12 for R-G-B. Thus 32bits per pixel?
