I was wondering if anyone from Durban knows of a reputable place to get a camera repaired? It's a Canon D400 SLR and it has issues.

Take it to the agents dont look for these cheapie repair shops cause most of the time they dont know what they are doing.

What are these issues you speak of? What did you do to your camera?

Canon suggests CameraTek. I sent my old camera into them and had no hassles whatsoever.

Cameratek is opening a KZN branch in the beginning of Oct or you can send it to there JHB branch

Yeah CameraTek were mentioned but it's too much hassle to send to Jhb and we also can't wait for October (the camera is used business/art wise). Thanks for the responses though

Ok, the actual problem is - CF card error (take pics but then they delete themselves/go missing). Now, some little spot here said that it's a processor problem, fix price R2000 ..... I think I should wait for CameraTek and see what they say but what do you guys think?

Have you tried a different CF card?

Yeah, a whole range of them, same problem.

Have you also tried reinstalling the firmware?

BTW - there is a CHDK version of the firmware that also gives you a few extra goodies like spot metering and 3200ISO that you could also try installing.

Afterthought: Have a look in the slot and make sure there isnt a bent pin in there.
