Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some recommendations for a new camera strap. A sling strap preferably, I hate neck straps. I currently use a Quickstrap ( a type of crib on the Blackrapid straps) but either I'm using it wrong, or something is off, the padded part keeps falling off my shoulder as soon as I shift the camera to bring it up to my face to shoot causing me to have to readjust the strap constantly which is a big pain. I've been looking at online reviews and apart from the Blackrapids which are a bit above my budget, I've seen the Joby Pro and the Peak Slide. Anyone here any experience with either of those, or some other make\ model or DIY option that really worked for you?

Regards
Elma

Yeah, strap creep is a problem. If you look at some of the Blackrapids you'll see a secondary strap that goes under the arm. You could always try adding one of those to your existing strap.

I have two BRs but recently I've gone back to using a standard strap.

FWIW a few friends blame their BR straps for weakening their 70-200s. They think the bounce, when you walk, causes unnecessary stress on the lens barrel. Not sure if I buy it but there you go...

My word. I've never even known there were people who thought about camera straps.

How to buy a camera strap:
1: Buy one you can afford.
2: Done

Good luck finding your dream :)

Carry 3-4kgs around your neck for a day... sooner or later you'll appreciate the value of a decent camera strap. ;)

I have Peak Design slide (lite and big one) and I'm quite happy with them.
Lite one for Fuji x and normal for canon 5d.

They are comfortable and configured to carry camera on the side.

Looks interesting - I'm going to rig one of my straps to something similar and see how it goes.

Done. Worked surprisingly well.

I have a Blackrapid Sport, the type with an extra strap that goes under the arm. It stays in place no matter what and is fairly comfortable. The biggest problem is making sure that the attachment to the tripod mount does not work loose.

I've got that model as well. The armpit strap gets uncomfortable after a while.
