Except that the image shown where he talks about the carabiner is not the one on the system though. The image above it shows the correct linkage and it's way stronger than the carabiner. Bottom line though, it's not that difficult to add a safety strap to any system to guard against the main strap/clip breaking.

I bought the cheap Phottix (about R350) with the justification that if I find myself using the system a lot then I will upgrade to a better version like the BlackRapid.
The review contained two images - I'm assuming this is the correct one?

Either way, compared to the Black Rapid lockable carabiner, its a joke.

Did you read the blog review all the way through? Not a chance would I trust a 300mm f/2.8 and a 1D to this.

I have been using it for just under a year with my D7000, battery grip, lens and SB700 speedlight hanging on the one end and another similar size and weight dslr on the other side without the screw becoming undone. That's an experience from one photographer, all products have good and negetive feedback from customers, it does help them to grow as a company.
