My advise would be the Canon Powershot SX30is which is 14 megapixels, 35x Optical Zoom with an image stabelizer, and the pictures will be fairly decent.

Yep - I get most of my glass from Adorama, even second hand.Will you buy a R80 000 lens over the internet? I prefer to collect the item myself ant test if everything is working. But that is just me.
Much like I'd feel wrt buying a used car from Avis. With people like me renting them it's probably not a good idea.bwana how do you feel about buying lenses from lens rental companies? I see lensrentals.com has a good selection of second hand kit.
