Camping Mattresses

Get 25 - 30 mm chip foam and a sheet of 25 - 50 mm of grey foam lay the grey on top of the chip...cut to size of 600 -700 wide single or +- 1300 wide double, Don't have the foam glued together as hard to roll up small.
throw a sheet or similar over....zzzzz-away.

We have a Coleman Queen double height air mattress. I normally wouldn't buy air as they always leak, but here we are.
It has been great, not a leak in sight and we can blow it up once and use it for more than a week without needing to reinflate.

It does get cold from below, so we just put blankets under the bed sheet as well.
You really want an electric pump for inflation as well.

A stretcher is also cold from below and can be hard. (I had one in my single days).
I had a short double foam mattress as well, but never used it while camping. Seems like it would work well though.

Similar to this:

Thats why the Intex one is cool - has an inbuilt pump with an electric cord that you can just plug in.

But - I have had two of them. First one lasted years but then sprang a leak. Second one had a slow leak from the get-go, but I procrastinated to long to return it under warranty. But going to get another one today I think when I cash in my Investec rewards.

When i do use an air mattress I always put one of these down, they are so light, and just helps in case of punctures.
So far so good
