I was given a Toshiba laptop running Linux Ubuntu but having never worked on a laptop/computer running this software before it seems intimidating and want to change the system to a windows setup, can it be done?

I went to Office Depot now and asked them if it's possible but they could not help me because they don't sell any windows OS according to the person I spoke too.

Well it's just software, of course you can change it

? Op is battling with his Linux laptop, those are some software suggestions.

Lol I just meant I don't understand the comparison in the photo of Linux vs Windows, because I've got the software in the Linux column on my Windows PC. No harm no foul :whistling:

Ah well you obviously understand those were originally written for Linux and eventually migrated to Windows so lots of cross platform apps in that list.

It's not really relevant what it was written for, all that matters is what it runs on. If a certain software works on anything it's stupid to group it under a certain OS.

Well those are the closest match on Linux for Windows specific programs.

It's not a comparison of anything, it is a list of 'Linux alternatives for Windows applications'.

The applications on the right do not have native Linux versions.
The applications on the left do have native Linux versions. They may have Mac and Windows versions too, but that is irrelevant.
