So, in the latest update to the Groupon app for Android, it enables support for South Africa:

However, when started the app, it told me that my city is not supported. I looked at the full list of cities available, and they were all cities in the UK.
After experimenting a bit, I think I understand what the problem is. It's to do with my language settings, under Settings / Language & Keyboard. I have my language set to English (UK), so for some idiotic reason the app thinks I'm in the UK (because the UK is the only country in the world that uses UK-spelling English, right?). If I clear all data from the Groupon app and change my language to English (US) it gives me list of US cities; if I change it to Spanish it gives me cities in Spain, and so on.
The problem is, how do I tell it that I'm in South Africa? There's no "English (South Africa)" option on the language menu. I've done a bunch of Google searches, and I haven't been able to find any answer to this problem.
Has anyone else managed to get this app to work?
PS: I'm running a rooted phone and a custom ROM. I'm not sure whether this makes any difference or not.
