Can anyone help unbrick my SGS :)

Put simply,

I flashed Darky's Gingerbread V5.5. Everything was fine until calls started dropping. I wanted to go back to stock, but I couldnt get back into 3brm or CWM which was installed.

Phone just flashes through white SGS screen and wont boot.
I CAN access downloading mode though (power, home & volume down)

Now im screwed. to say the least.

Anyone care for an easy R500.00 in the Pretoria/JHB region that fix it????

You need to wipe cache and maybe do a factory reset.
Get into recovery mode - Vol up+home+power

Do the data wipes and then reboot...

this should work...you may loose all your data...

if its still doing that - then you need to reflash a stock eclair rom (2.1) with a CSC file...

If you can get into download mode then you're sorted. Just fire up Odin and reflash everything (to be safe). I mean PDA, Modem and CSC including a repit.

Make sense? Do you have all these files?

That's a bad kernel you have going there. It explains why your bootloader is screwed up and it just hangs after the first splash screen. Like hilton suggested, you can reflash with Odin if you're able to access Download mode. Shouldn't be too much of an issue to repit and flash everything. And yes, you will loose all your data - that's the reason why I make backups quite often.
