Can anyone recommend a good digital camera?

I am looking for a good, as small as possible digital camera under R1500 ?

I have dealer accounts at most of the wholesalers but I don't know which is actually decent!

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

Bought a Canon A570is, still new to it - but after digging and comparing price ranges, this one presented me with the Best functionality for the price. Would have wanted a bit more optical zoom - but I guess you cant have it all.

If you want to spend more, people are ranting-and-raving over the Canon G7, but it also costs a few bucks more.
