MTN refuse to sell micro SIMS but I have an one which I forgot to top up with airtime so it's expired.

Would it be possible for MTN to rica the old SIM with a new number?

Or you can buy a normal sim and cut it

Aaah yes, I'll ask them to do that :)

Thank you Mbuzi

Don't waste your time. Just buy a simcard @ picknpay or boxer. Look for the MTN staterpack that says PicknPay and Boxer on the staterpack. It would say there that you would get pick n pay smartshopper points and get 20% airtime if you recharge @ picknpay or boxer and you get 500 loyalty points.

That staterpack is a standard sim size with a micro sim break out. Its 99c

Was just thinking which brands of phone needs micro sims and if MTN does not sell micro sims do they also not sell the phones that need them?

That's marvellous cavedog. Luckily today was so busy i didn't get to the MTN shop.

@Jacques is hier, it's for a note 3. The shops have them but say they're only for contract phones and won't sell them for prepaid.

@Rickster. I've sent you a PM with their number and the managers name. Please let us know what they say to you.

P. S. If they had any with the cut out thing they certainly didn't offer them to me. Just said micros are only for contacts.

I think that manager was drunk, so if I had a smartphone and wanted a prepaid SIM, MTN would have lost me as a costumer? I dont believe it.

I know they don't have nano sim cards for prepaid. Micro sim cards they have plenty. ALL phones purchased on MTN now have standard size sim with micro sim breakout. MTN shop do sell them. At the back of the staterpack it would say DSP MTN SP blah blah blah.

Just save yourself the headache and just pick one up at picknpay. Faster no queue and no lies. Make sure its the one that has the PicknPay and Boxer logo on it and says PNP Staterpack MTNSP .... on the back.

That is micro breakout sims. Buy that one and you can rica it and port your number or activate a new random number OR choose 4 digits and it will give you a list of 4 numbers that's available matching the 4 digits you selected.

Thanks again for the help cavedog. MTN have the best signal in our area so it's best to stick with them.

Same thing with me. MTN has the best network at home and work and the fact that I have 12GB of afrihost data linked to my top up contract.

Just out of curiosity what price plan do you use on prepaid?

:D i don't know cavedog :D just add airtime and data as i go along. If they didn't expire so quickly i'd probably load a year's worth of both in one go. As things stand i top up every month or so.
