Can Fibre ISP access my LAN ?

So they’re ‘managing’ my router as part of their T&C’s because I can’t log into it. I would need to request in writing for an account to log into my router from my LAN.
Does this mean they can access my LAN remotely ? My shares. My devices etc ?

Heck the way your network is setup even I accessed your LAN. I found the “hidden” folder btw......

In all seriousness though, I’m sure they could but there policies or code of ethics wouldn’t allow them to.

Technically yes, your ISP is probably using TR-069 to provision your router so that gives them access to change router settings. So if someone who has enough knowledge in networking and IT AND works at your ISP they can access your LAN although it will most likely get them fired.

Thanks. I think I’ll dump their ‘free’ router and plug back in the original one I own and was using with Telkom Fibre before switching to my current ISP........it’s a nice router though. If I buy it and do a factory reset could i then effectively ‘lock them out’ ?

As long as you purchase it from them you should be fine. As long as the router remains their property they can do whatever they want with it.

I put in a TP-Link as I couldn't do what I wanted on my WiFi connection like MAC Address Filtering. My Mikrotik is in the drawer and unused. No way they can connect to that TP-Link now.
