Can I bar SMS messages?

I use a data-only SIM on a post-paid contract.

Virtually on a daily basis I receive SPAM SMS messages. Some, but not all, will accept a STOP message. My contract makes no provision for sending an SMS and I have no intention of buying an SMS bundle just to send a STOP message to those who will accept this.

Is there any way to bar all SMS messages to the number?

Only service available is SMS inhibiting service, but I believe this is only to stop the sending of SMS's, not receiving. Have you tried deleting your SMS Centre number in settings?

I did what Ockie mentioned a while back and it worked. I grew tired of the "SA Gov" spam messages.

I just blocked the numbers and it stopped.

Thank you. I couldn't save after deleting the number but apparently removing the + before the International code will have the same effect.
