Is it possible to plug the filter into the router instead of the walljack?

NO!!!. it filters out the extra frequencies that an ADSL line produces so that you can use the telephone at the same time

Your router needs the unfiltered line.

you must be joking right? 9960 posts :p

Legit question, Lets say the Router and the phone are 5M from the jack, instead of running 2x5M to the filter/walljack i only need 1x5M and then a short one because the phone is right next to the filter.

Yeah, but the direction thing is a problem.

No it won't work.

1 unfiltered in = 1 unfiltered out and 1 filtered out
or
1 unfiltered in = 1 filtered out and 1 filtered out.

Get one of these from Checkers:

Phone line from jack into port 1. Modem into port 2. Filter into port 3 (and phone into filter).

Tape the connector with insulation tape.

What would i see should i do this?

Any negative impacts?

No, no negative impact. Just no dial tone. Try it and tell us if it works.
If it works, you can test it like that and see if your line drops when the phone rings.

I actually have done this at my dad's workshop, been 100% fine for the past 2years and there is a phone connected to it. I just wanted to see what people say about this, and they are wrong.

Keep in mind, that 5m long cord from the jack to the router is having a negative impact on your routers connection, you're likely to see slower connections with more noise (lower SNR)
