Hi guys, been having this thing the last few days where when I use my phone it randomly starts pressing the home button repeatedly non stop. I can't do anything while the phone is like this and I have to hold the power button down for 10 seconds to restart the phone. Which fixes it temporarily. It has happened about 4 times in the last week. I'm wondering if this is something a factory reset can fix or do I give it in to vodacom. I use my phone every day and have about 20k confidential work files on it. So id probably need to format the phone before I send it in anyways.

What you guys think?
Phone is under warranty till April next year.

Huawei P30 Lite 2020 Edition

Is super weird I've never had issues with a phone before in my life.

is it possible it is in a protective cover of sorts and this is pressing it?

Well you have nothing to lose by doing a hard reset.

If its software it should sort it out, If its a hardware issue you will have to send it in anyway. Backup everything, then do a restore and see.
I have the P30 pro and I get ghost touching all the time, apps opening while the phone is lying on the table ect.. so I suspect its a huawei thing. Nothing as bad as what you describe tho.

Probably the best idea yeah.
Best way to backup phone to pc? I've not done this before

On my P30 lite (original) I sometimes get random downwards scrolls. Fast and all the way to the bottom, when I was either scrolling down or left-right normal speed.

seems to be a common huawei thing..... I had issues with my Y7 2019... constant ghost tapping on a section of the screen to the point the phone was unusable. Formatting did nothing.

I don't like to use specific backup software anymore. Ive been burned too many times with one huge file being corrupted or not backing everything up.

Now I use my dropbox account to sync my important stuff and sync all my contacts to my gmail. the only thing I always struggle with when changing phones is losing the text messages. I think the last few times Ive used tasker to backup them up. Ive never actually needed to restore them tho. so I probably never actually needed them.

If you're not using a cloud sync then just copy the majority of stuff over via usb or ftp.
I've used the built in ftp server on my phone quite a bit and it seems to work very well.

Keeping confidential files on your phone isn't a good idea. Those should be backed up offline in an encrypted container with a local copy on your laptop.
