Can I get a broken 360?

Hi all

My first post on this forum (do I get a prize?) ;)

Anyways, anyone on here that hasn't had their console swapped care to sell the broken one to me. Or point in the right direction of sourcing one

Want to mod my still working 360 later in the year. However, I need to practice. So dissassembling a broken one won't hurt a warranty :)

I'll put up pics of my modded xbox 360 when its done :)

point you in the right direction? easy peezy dude - why don't you contact m$, they have about 3 - 5 million of these broken consoles or contact the local agents MI Digital, they should have a few thousand units (unless they ship them back to the xbox graveyard). If neither of these two can help contact any retailer, they are bound to have a few broken consoles.

For all dem xbox fanbois that are sharpening the blades, the xbox is a great console so take a cold shower, they just have a very limited life span.

No blades, just a heads up - Those consoles aren't just sitting in a pile somewhere, they're being retrofitted with 65nm chips for future repair swapouts, I think the model is called "OPUS". (ISTBC).
 
I would of thought so. MS will of course refurbish the dead units, and seeing that MI Digital is the local distributor I think they would do so.

I have had a response from a forumite so I'll have a broken one posted to me soon. I had a look on ebay but that would be weeks instead of days in terms of shipment. Don't you have to have paypal for ebay though? My paypal account is locked atm.
 
I've been "youtube-ing" religiously. Thats why I need a 360 to mess around with first.

Also if the broken one I'm getting merely has RROD, then I can most definately fix it as well. A 2nd xbox in my gaming setup will do nicely ;)

Over the next few months I'll be buying parts (dvd cover, replacement cooling fans, LED lighting, etc) to mod my xbox with. I should start in December with the actual project.

Interesting times ahead :D

maybe you should let m$ in the secret of how to fix the RROD because they appear to be battling

Isnt it just a X plate under the motherboard thats causing the RROD problem? AFAIK you can get remove the plate and it should be fine?

Its a X-plate mod yes. Involves shortened screws and washers, plus drilling small holes to accommodate them on the motherboard. It affects the older models AFAIK. This is for both the CPU & GPU.

I'm not sure if the X plate is any better on the newer models, or if the shrunken die is doing the trick.

Will have to do some research on that. I must also get my hands on a refurbished model to see what the MS techs have done to fix the RROD consoles.

Hehe, ive still got 'the old model' :) 1 of those 2006 ancient xboxes :D
 
My one's birth sheet (manufacturing date) is 2006-09-02. I bought the holiday bundle last December with the 4 games.

Can't wait to customise her ;)

p.s. A Christmas gift for myself too ... LOL ... :D
