It's sad really. The only thing I can see the PC gaming market have got going for it hoping that they get more ported console games and the all mighty Diablo 3.
 
Older people buy stuff for younger kids maybe? Sims 2 is like every second chick in the worlds favourite game...

Really - true answer here:

A crapload of people pirate games. the kind of people that play sims/etc don't know HOW a torrent/rapidshare works...the ones who play hi-tech games like crysis, do.

WoW? you need an original AND pay per month to play, so thats obviouse why it's making money...

no surprize for me there....
 
Nancy Drew @ #1. Must be some game, have we all been missing the point has COD4 been a lie? Perhaps Ms Drew has the latest PhysX running, where you run around with your flashlight on but wait there's more you're in the dark......
 
This goes to prove, that if you want to make money in game industry, make games for girls :rolleyes:
 
no, not necisarily girls, but to the casual gamer.

thats why popcap and the nintendo wii are making money - those gamers don't have contacts/internet/knowledge to use Rapidshare/Torrents...
 
really sad top 10. but i read somewhere that they don't put steam sales in the equation, and that makes a huge difference.

I guess you could say that the charts do lie. If better games are being played then they're not making any revenue. It's a case of bullet meeting foot.
 
Ye, its true, i had to buy sims for my 5 girlfriends last week, sucked. Oh yea, FYI, im cuthulist, you are required to have 5 gf's... its a drag but the Squid's word is set in stone.
