Can i mod/hack my old Dstv Walka 7?

Hi guys,

Found my old Dstv Walka 7 device, and the thing looks to be in good condition (switches on etc)
However I'm aware that Dstv has ended their DVB-H services thus rendering the device useless.
But seeing as how technology etc has changed over time, is it at all possible to somehow mod the device? Or change the firmware somehow for it to pick up regular sabc channels or just use it as some sort of media player or something?


Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys
 
It is only useful if there is a DVB-H broadcast, and this has been switched off.
Not sure it can be useful for anything else, I think it has very dedicate hardware and firmware.
 
It can be used as paper weight, door stop, or perhaps donate it to a technology museum.

Very unlikely, don't forget it's all encryption based so not going to cooperate with other sources anyway. Unlike with more-public sources it never had any "open time" broadcasts / ability AFAIK.
 
How can connect walka 7 to dstv app help me please
 
Surely there must be something worthwile doing with this walka?
Not even Android 4? or a simple photo frame?
 
Absolutely nothing, same as an MNet decoder
