I just started formating a 3.2 tera hard disk.

So if tomorrow morning the formatting is not done, Can I stop it, eg removing this ext hard disk by removing its power.

Will I be able to re formatting it later again?

You could - but its not going to be usable until you format it properly...

Y...TF...would you format ntfs to fat 32 on a 3.2 tera???

But you can stop(cancel) the format, then change it back to ntfs then format again.

Always though the maximum size of a Fat32 partition would be 2TB. Also why did you just not Quick Format it?

All depends on your sector size. The larger the drive, the bigger the sector size the fewer number of files you can store. A 16TB FAT32 would use a 4K sector size compared to 0.5KB for a 2TB.

But your still limited to the 4GB file size limit regardless of your sector size.

Ok, I need help.

The disk could not be formatted, because it is to big, says the message on the screen in cmd.

What do I have do to now.
Reason for fat32 is the tv must be able to read it.

In the normal windows format their is only exFat , I suppose that is not Fat32.

Check admin tools, computer management and see if the disk is listed there. Delete logical drive then format it if i remember correctly.

Just partition the drive and format in fat32 on each partition.
