Can I use BB Torch internet without paying for BIS?

Getting a new phone next week and sold my old phone. I have a spare BB Torch but never used a BB before. Can I use it like a normal cell phone without paying for BIS for a week and using my normal data bundle for Whatsapp, browser and twitter?

Blackberry. Nobody cares; nobody's cared for a few years now.

You can use your existing data, but you'll need to specify your carrier's normal APN somewhere in the BB's settings. Obviously BBM won't work.

You can load data if you dont want to use BIS.

Thanks for the reponses. I'm glad the BB will work. I asked people at the office that used to have BB but they couldn't remember if it was possible. I have been using iPhones for the last 4 years. Going to be strange kicking it old school for a week on a BB while waiting for my iphone 5 upgrade.
