OMG!! You must be joking!! New blades can be bought at the parts counter or at Midas and anyone who is big enough to reach the wiper blades can replace them. For Pete's sake don't pay to have the bloody things replaced!!!

Never goto the dealers for something small, like wipers.. its madness! For my honda accord, they wanted R800 for new wipers! Being summer, I'm leaving this till autumn next year and buy new wipers from Midas myself.

tell you dealer he's smoking too much of his own product.

I'd bought them from a dealer (no one else had them available at that time) and it was about the same as from anywhere else (had checked on the pricing before I went to them) and they fitted it in the parking lot for free.
Someone's trying to take you for a ride.

car is a 98 polo playa comfortline 1.6

I have a maintenance plan, the dealer thought it would be funny to change the blades at every service, even though they were perfect.
Maintenance plan rejected it, dealer tried to make me cough up R750....
I thought that was insane, but R1400....u win

just got back from them. thanks !

paid R420 with the clip-on brackets already included ... so no trimming etc :D

Maybe the parts are hard to come buy, but yeah that's probably not the real reason, but could be a reason.

Just go get them done yourself. Ive never changed a wiper blade myself (take it to my pops who owns a garage), but i am sure its easy.

Which branch of VW wants to charge these prices...name and shame dude! Come on!

Sorry, I'm just amazed that anybody would willingly pay someone to fit a set of wiper blades.

Obviously those people incapable of fitting them also employ a nurse to bath and so their toilet duties for them every day as well...

This....was qouted R179 incl. VAT per blade for the VW Polo from VW themselves...R1400 from the dealer is ludicrous...
