Can MC950D be used with different providers?

I have just purchased an MC950D from Vodacom. I believe they are not locked to the provider. If I want to use this with MTN is there alternative software to VMC that I can use/install? I presume VMC will not work with an MTN sim.

I don't think so. Most of the alternative software is made for the Huawei devices. Vodacom for some reason puts software on it that effectively locks it for the average user.

Just use the Mobilink software from Novatel and you'll be fine.
