Hope this is in the right (sub)forum...

I have an oldish telkom router (I think the model is a mega 100w or something like that) that no longer works. When the power is plugged in all it does is flash all the green lights on and off constantly.

Is there somewhere I can take this to be fixed at a cheap price?

Could it be a fuse inside or something?

I wanna get connected to internet but I'm hoping I dont have to buy a router :D

Sounds like the mysterious black smoke has escaped from it due to a surge ;)

LOL so will I ever get this thing fixed? Should I bother?

What's the cheapest modem I can buy and where?

What is 'VPN passthrough' as listed on some of the router adds?

look to see if telkom can not supply you with a router they use to dunno if they still do

Cant it used to be a friends router that he was gonna throw away so I thought maybe I could try and fix it :D

Oh well, otherwise how is this modem? Any good?

I wanna get a 4meg adsl line.

Selfinstall is just for the ADSL portion of your phone line

No nothing was only like a year later did I join the Closer option for the free calls lol...

this was like 5 years ago. and last year they stole the cable and still waiting for telkom to replace the cable there. It was at my moms place I have since moved to Kempton park and still using the same router with no issues

:D I took the closer plan 1 which is only R14 more then I get free calls and free installation. hahaha

Now its just a matter of time before they install the telephone line :(

They told me 14 days for line installation and 30 days for adsl installation after that.

But I'm guessing it's gonna be a heck of a lot longer...

Immenent
