Can not display some pages.

Some sites i try to visit do not display. One of these sites is www.dolnet.gr. The error displayed after typing in the url is the following:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

I have played around with Dr. TCP and i have phoned iBurst themselves for help but there is no real help. I noticed it also does this with some chineses sites. Im using win2K and win XP Pro and it does it to both.

Any suggestions

This is either a case of DOLnet being down, or iBurst not having international capacity, so the TCP connection times out.

Are you able to get to any other *.gr domains? What chines sites are you having hassles with?

Dolnet is not down. I also have adsl connection and that works hundreds. I can also view quite a few other international sites.

I've been having massive latency issues with iburst since yesterday.....mayb it's affecting you aswell snaps.

ping www.iburst.co.za a couple of times and see what your results are.

Can not be latency probs. Iv had this from the start. Iv also tested with different iBurst modems, in different locations and WBS themselves when using their modem can not view the page. Try to view the page and if you can and you using iBurst let me know.

of course its not latency, who said its latency? you're not contacting dolnet.gr, the wbs proxy is, so unless it has bad latency issues (not likely) then ithats not the problem. I would go on a limb and say that the website in question has bad routing to south africa. But whatever the reason it doesnt help you, so all you gotta do is get the wbs proxy to contact another server which contacts dolnet.gr, so how do you do that? well with a web proxy, I present to you.... I just tried http://www.dolnet.gr/ and got to it with iburst and without using anything else besides that URL.

A few days ago I had that exact problem with 2 local sites - www.mighty.co.za and www.exactmobile.co.za .. It said the requested URL was not found, and displayed the iBurst logo .. that lasted for about 2 days and now it seems to be working fine again.

thats totally different, that means it couldnt get an IP from the hostname where as snaps problem was due to a timeout, meaning it found the IP but couldnt connect

Well I had the same Problem with VODACOM.NET today to login.
Then had to refresh
