Or a better question - are there people who do fix decoders in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs.

Got a Model 3A.

It was stuck on a single channel for a while, with only the power button on the remote working.

Now the only the thing that happens is it is on a continuous loop of booting up, loading and then rebooting.

If you really want a chance at repair, the multichoice walk-in centre at n1 city is your best bet.. your issue is not hardware related, so TV repair places and the like can't help..

It's more than likely software issue and it will more than likely be wiped and reinstalled by the walk-in centre tech as a first repair option anyway, so recordings are gone irrespective..

But all that recorded content. Just lost now?
These guys are wrong, recordings can maybe be recovered. IF they're still in good order on the HDD.
Only possible at a main MC service centre last I knew, not an agency, and they will charge for it. Make sure you ask for recordings transferring first.

Nope, was there last year.. couldn't transfer my recordings..

I remember my decoder in a loop like that. Fixed it by doing a factory reset. I do a factory reset now at least once a year lol.

But sounds like you can't even get to the settings screen..

There should be a pinhole that would allow you to do the same thing.

Now you tell me!

DSTV skelms!
You can't even watch Showmax on the 3B decoder now that I just bought. You could on the 3A I had.
Yet the remote comes with a Showmax button. They skimping everywhere they can.

I like watching Showmax via the decoder on the TV and not my PC.

Nope, continual loop. Will try the pinhole reset if there is a one.

Never heard of this pinhole trick but never needed it. Gonna check if I can see something like that
